Kingsmead Book Fair

Kingsmead Book Fair Session was packed to the gunnels.

With cushions for the little ones and standing room only at the back of the room, Polly Piralympics was a roaring success at Kingsmead Book Fair.

Polly was joined by two new pirates as well as the rest of her cousins: Toucane the Toucan, Hettie the Hornbill, Mpho the Macaw, and Guyrah the Pink Galah and Kilara the Cockatiel (who had both recently flown in from Australia).

Jann Weeratunga the author of the Polly’s Piralympics and Toucane Series’ chatted to her audience about being kind to new classmates and why it is ugly to bully people.

Not wanting to be left out Toucane popped in and chatted about not throwing rubbish/litter on the ground and sang a song with the audience about putting litter in the bin.
